Let it snow

I was late to work on this morning last week when I walked outside to find this. Had to run back to my house, grab my camera, and photograph it before the sun melted it away. I've never actually seen real snowflakes like this so close-up. Can I just say: YAY MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY!

Snowflakes lit by the rising sun. It may have been -3 degrees that day, but this is worth it.

For the Love of Color!

My favorite colors in the whole world come from peacock feathers. Its so hard to find color so brilliant, glowing, and vibrant anywhere else in nature. I have this little vase on my window sill full of peacock feathers, so I can see them when the sun hits. At any given time of the day, the feathers look different. Different lighting, different shadows - they really are the most fantastic colors you can find!

Even the ocean doesn't sparkle with as much vibrancy as a feather in the sun

Thingy?

Beautiful waterfall... with a thingy in it. I am not sure what it is, but because of my love for everything old and abandoned looking, I was very excited to capture this shot. My thought is that its something to do with water flow, and there used to be a building there. Anyone know what that thingy is?

Nameless

I call this nameless because, well, I have no idea what it is. Therefore this detailed piece of metal remains without a name. It was on an ancient building, and what I find most fascinating is that there are fingerprints on the metal. Those fingerprints are hundreds of years old. Amazing!

Beautifully Random

Two shots of things that weren't supposed to be there.

This was the only flower in sight, and the only one I've ever seen like it, anywhere!

Spicket to nowhere? This was an 8 story parking garage and the spicket is turned towards the 8 story drop!

Random raw images I found on my computer today

Some of these are real oldies - up to 3 years ago - but still goodies! Its kind of scary how many raw images I have floating around my poor old dinosaur of a computer. I fear greatly the day I put in one photo too many and the poor girl crashes forever. We've already had a few scares!
Anyway, feedback is always welcome, I love me some comments... keeps me going! :)

This was directly outside my livingroom window last spring... they were loud but so incredibly cute! The momma bird kept coming by and feeding them, until one day, they were gone!

Taken in the winter, at a dog park in NY. Gorgeous winter berry vines and a gray sky!

Taken in VT, at a beautiful river that dries up every summer, leaving beautiful scenery, fresh water pools that the local children love to play in, and very lush greenery. Only part that wasn't beautiful - I am almost positive I found a dead body in a very deep pool... I ran away because it smelled so bad I couldn't handle it!! I'm still hoping it was just a dead moose....
