Day 42 - Labor Day

I thought this was an appropriate shot in celebration of Labor Day. Trains are like the veins that run through our country. Whether they're in full use or long gone, they serve tremendous purpose in our history and future. You find the greatest things walking along train tracks - a majority of the hiking I do is along them. An early afternoon hike along these tracks landed me alongside an abandoned armory! So cool.

Day 41 - Kids Killing Swans

Apparently, the statue in the pond by the botanical gardens approves of this message. Kids, if you see swans, you need to get naked and choke it, ya hear?!

Day 40 - Oops

Beautiful flower growing by a swamp - I haven't seen one like this before. I was steadying myself on a rickety piece of wood so I wouldn't sink into the swamp, and I guess I didn't notice my foot was in the picture. Oh well, I think the black & white with the red contrast actually looks kind of cool. So I'm keeping it!

Day 39 - Dinosaur Eggs

Well, I call them Pastel Berries or Easter Berries, too. I've seen these before, but still have no idea what they are. I've only seen them once or twice before in the oddest places. Very pretty, very colorful! Google has been no help in my search of finding out what they are actually called. And I'd be even more excited if they were edible! Haha.

Day 38 - City Property

If they don't want people to trespass, they should make their signs a wee bit more legible ;)

Day 37 - Frank -N- Frog

My cat, Frank, met his first frog today. I think it started to look a little tasty... haha! If I wasn't holding the frog, I would have been able to focus the camera much better. But I had to protect the poor little froggy just in case Frank thought he was a kitty treat!
